We’ve been really lucky this year. It seems like the late game, dramatic walk-off win has become somewhat of a regular occurrence with this current group of Red Sox players.
On Tuesday night, at the end of the second game of a day-night double header, we got another one. After the Tampa Bay Rays tied the game up on an eighth inning home run, Red Sox outfielder Daniel Nava drew a walk in the bottom of the ninth. Moments later, outfielder Jonny Gomes came up to bat and crushed a two-run home run over the Green Monster.
It was a great celebration from Gomes, who punted his helmet as he ran down the third base line.
