Stills: Dustin Pedroia Retirement.

This Boston Red Sox honored former second baseman Dustin Pedroia during pregame ceremonies at Fenway Park before a game against the New York Yankees. Pedroia, who played in 1,512 games with the club from 2006–19, announced his retirement from the Red Sox and the game of baseball on February 1, 2021.
During the ceremony, Pedroia was met by former teammates Tim Wakefield, Mike Lowell, and Jacoby Ellsbury, as well as Pedro Martinez, Luis Tiant, and various community partners. At the ceremony’s conclusion, retired professional wrestler Ric Flair surprised Pedroia and announced “Play Ball” alongside him and his sons Dylan, Brooks and Cole.
The Sox beat the Yankees 5–3, and once the field cleared and the Fenway lights dimmed, Pedroia took the field for one last portrait at second base.
