Boston Red Sox Farewell – Billie Weiss.

Dear colleagues, players, friends, family, and followers: With many mixed emotions, I am here to report that after nearly 14 years, I am leaving my role as head Team Photographer and Director of Creative Services for the Boston Red Sox. What began as a photo internship at 22 years old grew into a exhilarating, fulfilling, prosperous career with an incredible organization that exceeded all my expectations.
Over this decade-plus, I’ve had the privilege of documenting the most iconic moments in Red Sox and Fenway Park history, including two World Series championships. As a professional, I grew from a pure shooter to a sophisticated marketer and producer, helping to shape the brand and move it forward. I am grateful for those that took a chance on me, and for those who challenged me to grow beyond what I knew I was capable of.
Leaving is the toughest professional decision I’ve had to make. I will miss the unmatched access, the chance to work with MLB players, and the daily grind. I’ll miss mentoring young photographers and am proud to have impacted the careers of many talented individuals who have gone on to do great things. As team photographer, especially for the Red Sox and at Fenway Park, this was not just my job – it became part of my core identity. This is the toughest part to let go of.
Thank you to the countless colleagues, mentors, players, friends, and family who have supported me. There are too many to name and you know who you are! A special thanks to Alaina, Josie, and Levi for understanding the long hours and sacrifice it takes to do this job well. I love you! Finally, thank you to all of you for following and for your support of the art. I hope you enjoyed seeing this little slice of Red Sox history through my eyes, and I hope you’ll stick with me on the journey ahead.
While I am legitimately sad to end this chapter, I know there is more out there for me, and I’m excited to share what’s next with you soon. But for now, thank you for being part of this incredible ride. Those who know me well know this was my dream job, and I am proud to have achieved that dream and lived it to the fullest.
Let the creativity begin anew!
Much love. Go Sox ❤️
