Photos: Boston Red Sox Holiday Caravan.

Last week, The Boston Red Sox visited local hospitals, schools, and community centers as part of their annual Holiday Caravan. This year, Red Sox infielder Deven Marrero, and pitchers Robby Scott and Heath Hembree joined the Caravan, which stopped at Codman Academy School in Dorchester, Massachusetts General Hospital, Shriners Hospital For Children, The Jimmy Fund, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, and The BASE.

This is always a great showing of community outreach from the players and organization. Here are a few photos from the two day event.

Here’s a quick portrait of several members of New Kids On The Block, who made an appearance at Fenway Park yesterday to promote their upcoming concert there next summer.

Photos: 2016 Globies Awards.

Last night, I shot the second annual Globies Awards for Fenway Sports Management.

The award show recognized the sports scene in New England and honors the most successful athletes and teams from the previous year.

There were several photographers on hand, each with their own shot list to cover. I was assigned to the “orange carpet” to get athletes as they arrive posed with a bright yellow Mercedes-Benz parked out front of the House of Blues. Got to make those sponsors happy. Then I stayed backstage during the award ceremonies, shooting interactions and posed photos with the athletes after they accepted their awards. There were a lot of moving parts backstage, but it was fun to be there, and was happy to get about 20 seconds with David Ortiz to shoot a portrait of him in the Green Room.

Our old friend Big Papi made an appearance last night at Strega Waterfront in Boston for the Boston Common Magazine release of their newest issue, featuring Ortiz on the cover. I shot the event for Getty Images.

Nothing crazy here, and certainly no art, just a few quick snaps for the record. Thanks to Boston Common Magazine and Getty Images for having me out!

Boston Red Sox Photos: David Ortiz Bids Farewell.

I came into last night feeling optimistic about another magical come from behind Boston Red Sox run to win this year’s American League Division Series. Although the game was as close as it could have been, that comeback we all dreamed of wasn’t meant to be, and the Cleveland Indians completed their sweep of Boston to advance to the next round of the post season.

With last night’s result, the remarkable career of David Ortiz came to a close. Fittingly, his final curtain call happened at Fenway Park, and as he always seems to do, Big Papi owned the moment. I’ll never forgot his final at bat, a walk. I’ll never forget watching him stand at first base pumping his arms in the air to fire up the crowd one last time. And I’ll never forget his emotional final salute to the fans on the pitcher’s mound after the game was over. It’s amazing how one man can have such an impact on so many people.

There are some incredible photographers in Boston and around the country that have documented David’s entire career, from the beginning through these final moments last night. I consider myself lucky to have been there for the last five years of his career, a chapter that included a World Series win in 2013 in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombing. He’s one of those figures in sports that is larger than life, and it was a pleasure to cover such an iconic subject for part of the journey.

And just like that, my seventh season in Major League Baseball, and fifth with the Boston Red Sox, is done. As a team photographer in a city like Boston and a venue like Fenway Park, your switch needs to be turned on all the time. It can be exhausting, frustrating, and taxing at times, and there were certainly points in the season where I felt all of those. I had fun – a lot of fun. There were great moments, too many to count, and even better people in my life, all of which I’m very thankful for.

Congratulations to everyone in the front office on a fantastic season!

Now, it’s time for some rest before the off-season shooting begins. More to come, as always!

Here are some photos from the Red Sox team workout on the off day before game three of the American League Division Series.

Yikes! We find ourselves down 2-0 in the American League Division Series after another loss yesterday against the Cleveland Indians. Not a whole lot of opportunities for Red Sox pictures yesterday.

We’re back in Boston now. Here’s hoping for a come back in the series!

The Red Sox postseason push began yesterday, as the team held a brief work out at Fenway Park before traveling to Cleveland ahead of the American League Division Series against the Cleveland Indians. Here are some images from the workout, as well as the trip to Ohio with the team.

Photos: David Ortiz Honored In Final Regular Season Game.

In his final regular season game at Fenway Park, David Ortiz was honored by the Boston Red Sox in an emotional pre-game ceremony, which featured gift presentations, visits by former teammates of David’s, special flag drops over the Green Monster, and a ceremonial first pitch by the President of the Dominican Republic, Danilo Medina.

An incredibly long day that left me feeling exhausted. It’s hard to believe that yesterday marked game 162 and the end to the regular season. Some breathing room today, but I’m off on a flight to Cleveland tomorrow to shoot the American League Division Series against the Indians.

I’m excited for playoff baseball!
