PHOTOS: 2016 CONNECTICUT OPEN TENNIS – DAY 3.
Another busy one today at the Connecticut Open! Today, the top seeded players met the media for All-Access hour, and the main draw began on Stadium Court. I’ve still got a ton of matches to shoot happening at the same time, but tomorrow should level out.

Here are photos from a huge day of quarter-finals and semi-finals tennis yesterday at the BNP Paribas Open! Another big day coming up today.

I’ve returned to beautiful, sunny Palm Springs, California, where I’m here to shoot my third BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament. After a long, tough winter in Boston, naturally I’m thrilled to be out here shooting tennis in the sunshine for a few weeks.
This is one of the best tournaments on tour, so I’m excited to get some really good photo and video coverage for the tournament website, social media channels, and marketing materials.
I’m here a week before the tournament starts to cover several things happening, including the second annual John McEnroe Challenge for Charity, which brings former tennis stars and current players together for a night of exhibition matches to raise money for various charities. Last night was the draw ceremony and VIP reception for the event, so I’ve included a few pictures from that. John McEnroe was of course in the house, along with James Blake, Andy Roddick, Tracy Austin, Lindsay Davenport, Rick Leach, Coco Vandeweghe, and others.
I’ll be sure to post updates daily as the tournament goes on!

I’m 30,000 feet above somewhere in the middle of the country, flying back to freezing cold Boston after an unforgettable three weeks working at the 2014 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California.

We’re approaching the end of the BNP Paribas Open, which means matches are getting more tense and emotions running higher. Yesterday was an exciting day of tennis, and today should be even better.
Here are some of the highlights from the men’s quarterfinals and the women’s semifinals.

Super Saturday yesterday! What a day running from court to court shooting all the big names. I tried to take advantage of the nice light and great emotions on court.
Another busy day ahead.
Photos and Video: BNP Paribas Open – Day 1.

I’m out in Palm Springs, California, where I’m working as a Multimedia Producer for the online team at the 2013 BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells Tennis Garden. I’ll be here throughout the entire tournament, so I’ll be posting the content I create and produce daily, so be sure to stay tuned for more!
The first video above is a piece I shot and edited. I’ve worked as a still photographer and social media editor at several tournaments on the professional tennis tour, including twice at the US Open and once at Wimbledon, but this tournament marks the first time that I’ve brought video into the mix.
In the video, reporter Scott Hennessee asked the top eight seeded players on the women’s side of the draw a series of questions to find out how well they knew each other. I filmed, shooting with a Canon 7D body and recording with wireless lavaliers, and then pulled together a quick edit to be posted on the tournament’s website and various social media outlets.
Featured in this video are Maria Sharapova, Victoria Azarenka, Agnieska Radwanska, Petra Kvitova, Angelique Kerber, Caroline Wozniacki, Samantha Stosur, and Sara Errani. The players gave us great material to work with, and I’m happy with the pace and flow of the piece. And, what could be better than interviewing the world’s best tennis players on the roof of the stadium at Indian Wells Tennis Garden under perfect, sunny, 80 degree skies?
I’ve also included some still images from All-Access Day, as well as some frames from an promotion event for Maria Sharapova’s line of gummy candies, “Sugarpova.”
Here is a link to a blog post with coverage from media day, and here is a link to a photo gallery of my images on the BNP Paribas Open Facebook page.
As always, I welcome your thoughts, comments, suggestions, criticisms, or questions. Enjoy!
Photos: 2012 US Open – Day 4.
Here’s a selection of images from a jam packed Day 4 at the 2012 US Open. On the tennis side, I tried to mix up the way I shot my action photos yesterday. I love shooting tennis because there are so many ways to attack it, and I want to make sure I do just that while I’m here. I shot lots from high above, which I really enjoyed and plan to do a lot more as the tournament goes on.
Off the court, it was a bit of a whirlwind day. I was assigned to follow RedFoo from LMFAO as he walked around the grounds, which was entertaining. Here is a link to a gallery with some more of my photos of him. I also shot Andy Roddick’s press conference in which he announced his intention to retire from tennis after this year’s US Open. Here is the video from that presser.
And, finally, here is a link to the rest of our photo galleries from Day 4.
Time for Day 5!
