Boston Red Sox Photos: 2018 Opening Day Vs. Tampa Bay Rays.

We’re underway again at Fenway Park! This week’s Opening Day was my seventh with the Red Sox, and ninth in Major League Baseball. I’m getting old.

As Opening Days go, this was a good one. The Red Sox came from behind to beat the Tampa Bay Rays on a walk-off hit by Hanley Ramirez in the twelfth inning.

Before the game, the team welcomed Winter Olympians and Paralympians from the New England region in a moving pre-game ceremony, which included a special appearance by David Ortiz.

Here are the photos from the game.

I’m back at Fenway, where another home stand is underway. Last night, we had Olympic gymnast and Needham, Massachusetts native, Aly Raisman, in to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. That made for some nice moments, but unfortunately the game itself was dry as far as photos go.

Another game tonight!

This past Saturday, several members of the 2012 United States Olympic team – those originally from New England – were honored in a Ceremonial First Pitch presentation at Fenway Park.

Among the athletes on hand were two-time Gold Medal gymnast, Aly Raisman, Gold Medal judoka, Kayla Harrison, and Tina Charles and Asjha Jones of the Gold Medal winning women’s basketball team.

This was really neat to see after watching so much of the games this year on TV! Here’s hoping to cover the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro!
