Back at it at Fenway! Feeling refreshed after some time off. We recently installed some new robotic camera pods in the ballpark, which I will explain more about in a future post, but I gave it my first trial run last night. I definitely missed a lot of critical moments in the game, as shooting with the robots requires a completely different mentality. But it was fun to approach the game I shoot so much in a different way. More to come soon.

After an extended delay due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Boston Red Sox began their 2020 Major League Baseball campaign against the Baltimore Orioles on Opening Night at Fenway Park.
This was an absolutely wild day to be a part of from beginning to end. I was at the park at 5:15AM for the sunrise, and left at 12:45PM (with a brief nap in the morning).
A beautiful pre-game ceremony incorporated elements of the Black Lives Matter movement, and remember lives lost due to COVID-19.
I can’t remember an Opening Day so busy, which is unexpected given we are playing in front of an empty ballpark. Overall, I am tired, but very happy to be here, and feel lucky to have witnessed history yesterday.

Finally, some classic summer light to work with. I forgot how much of a difference it makes. For the first time this “season”, things on my end felt normal again, even if just for a few minutes during sunset.

Another game today! I felt fresh after a bit of a break shooting yesterday and into the morning today. The camp this year has been a grind, so I need to be sure to take rest where I can and make sure I’m strategic with the breaks I’m taking as to not get burned out creatively.
