Photos: Boston Children’s Hospital And OSRAM Light Up For Kids.
Last week, Boston Children’s Hospital announced a partnership with Osram, a global high-tech lighting company, to ‘Light Up’ the hospital and the City of Boston in an effort to support patients and their families throughout the winter months.
As part of the initiative, buildings and business around the City of Boston will simultaneously light up in blue, the hospital’s signature color, to show support for the city’s young patients. Blue light up wristbands and candles have also been distributed to patients and hospital staff members.
The announcement was made at a press event at the hospital, which I covered for Getty Images.

Photos: Boston Red Sox Holiday Caravan.

Every year, several Boston Red Sox players and coaches take part in a Holiday Caravan, during which they visit various hospitals and community centers to share some holiday cheer.
This year, infielder Garin Cecchini and pitchers Steven Wright and Heath Hembree were on the caravan, and made stops at six different hospitals: The Jimmy Fund, Boston Children’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Shriners Hospital For Children, Mass General Hospital, and Spaulding Rehabilitation Center. They also visited The Base inner city baseball clinic and the Four Seasons Hotel.
It’s always a great experience spending days on the road with the players. Thanks to Garin, Steven, and Heath, three great guys, for their time and for posing for so many photos over the two days.
It was also nice to have a quick byline in the Boston Herald from the trip.

I just thought I’d make a quick post with this photo from our visit to Children’s Hospital Boston yesterday with some Red Sox up and comers who are in town this week for the Rookie Development program.
It’s refreshing to see such youthful energy, and the guys were great to follow around as they met with patients. I liked this moment.
