The Boston Red Sox once again hosted a weekend getaway of hot stove fun for fans and families last weekend at the fourth annual “Baseball Winter Weekend” at Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. The event included a Town Hall Meeting with Red Sox leaders, autographs and photos with Red Sox players, and round-table discussions on a variety of baseball topics. The weekend also included a full baseball festival for fans of all ages and clinics for kids.
Yesterday, the Boston Red Sox held a team workout ahead of their flight to Houston, Texas for the American League Division Series against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park. Below is a gallery of photos from the workouts and trip to Houston.
Back at it at Fenway for the final homestand of the 2017 season. Going into last night, the magic number for the Boston Red Sox to clinch the division was 3. Unfortunately, the Yankees won and the Sox lost, so the magic number now remains at 3 going into today.
Regardless, the team is in great shape, and we should have an exciting week of baseball ahead.
Mookie Betts collected 6 RBI’s last night, hitting two home runs and a triple to lead the way in an 11–1 victory over the Oakland Athletics yesterday. The team looks to win the secondg ame of the series tonight.
Before the game, the Red Sox recognized childhood cancer by participating in the Go Gold For Cancer ceremony.
Here are some photos from a Red Sox win last night at Fenway. Not a great shooting night for me! I just felt off. Sometimes that happens though, so I’m looking forward to getting back after it this weekend.
Here is a series of portraits I recently shot for the Boston Red Sox. This season, I’ve made it one of my goals to shoot more portraits of the players, both in studio and environmentally.
For this series, the creative team and I decided to shoot with a ‘high-key’ look and feel. These were shot with a relatively simple two light set up on a white seamless backdrop. We were lucky enough to have outfielders Andrew Benintendi, Mookie Betts, and Chris Young, infielders Xander Bogaerts and Deven Marrero, and designated hitter Hanley Ramirez stop in for a couple shots. My favorite frame of each player is shown above. Additionally, I’ve included some assets created by our talented graphic designers, Marissa McClain and Nick Sciaratta, which the Red Sox have utilized on social media to promote voting for the 2017 All-Star Game.
The Red Sox split a four game series in Baltimore over the weekend. Below is a gallery of images from the final game of the series, highlighted by a win for Chris Sale, two home runs by Andrew Benintendi, and the 500th hit in the young career of Mookie Betts.
It was nice to be back in my home town and check in with my good photographer friends at Camden Yards.
