Video: Welcome to Fenway Park – FPV Drone | 2022 Boston Red Sox Opening Day.

I couldn’t be more excited to share this recent Opening Day spot I produced alongside an incredibly talented team for the Boston Red Sox home opener. This year, we called on the help of Boston-based aerial production team, Above Summit, to create and FPV style drone video taking viewers on a journey through Fenway Park as it was prepared for the opening weekend.

These videos have become very popular as of late, so to take the production value a step further, we scripted out various scenes, easter eggs, and vignettes to weave together a storyline that hit on the key thematic points that will be present on opening weekend and throughout the 2022 season. The video features references to Opening Day, the Nike City Connect campaign and the running of the Boston Marathon, David Ortiz 2022 induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame, a memorial to Jerry Remy, and other relevant storytelling moments.

Together with Tim Heintzelman and Kellan Reck of Boston Red Sox Creative Services and Productions, we produced all logistics, storyboarding, and scripting for this complex beast of a video. We filmed over four days of production on a tight deadline to get out and onto our channels by Opening Day. A huge thanks to the team at Above Summit and to FPV pilot Jacob Ballin for this incredible footage and expertise.
