Boston Red Sox Photos: Friday, August 7, 2020 Vs. Toronto Blue Jays.

Back at it at Fenway! Feeling refreshed after some time off. We recently installed some new robotic camera pods in the ballpark, which I will explain more about in a future post, but I gave it my first trial run last night. I definitely missed a lot of critical moments in the game, as shooting with the robots requires a completely different mentality. But it was fun to approach the game I shoot so much in a different way. More to come soon.

Boston Red Sox Photos: 2020 Photo Day.

Team photo day is done and done again this year! Earlier today, our full roster of players and coaches came through our set to pose for portraits ahead of the 2020 season. This day serves as our opportunity to gather the visual assets we need to carry us through across multiple platforms throughout the season.

Black, white, and red all over was our move this year! Our incredible team designers Marissa McClain and Nick Sciarratta designed this abstract Fenway Park blueprint set with a dramatic color scheme for the players to pose in. As a last minute addition, we threw in some black plexiglass on the ground to add some dimension to the room we created out of the two backdrops. This look had it’s challenges, but I’m proud of our team for putting in the work and trial runs necessary to execute it well. Props to Maddie Malhotra, our staff photographer, for shooting a perfect white seamless set and putting together this fresh looking blog post of our day.

A huge thanks to the players and coaches for their time, and to everyone in our Creative Services and Media Relations teams for making it happen!

Boston Red Sox Spring Training Workout

Boston Red Sox Photos: Saturday, September 28, 2019 Vs. Baltimore Orioles.

More work overhead today with the robots! All of these images were shot via a robotic camera controlled by a Surface Pro tablet. Amazing to see the versatility of the robots and the angles they provide. I hope to be able to bring these permanently to Fenway next year and expand upon this!

Another game tonight. Tried to mix in some behind the scenes features in the clubhouse before the game began.

Walk-off! It feels like finally this year we got our first real, definitive walk-off last night, as Christian Vazquez hit the game-winning two run home run to cap a 5-1 come from behind win. That’s more like what we’re used to!

Here were some images from the end as well as the rest of the game.

Here are a few shots from Friday night’s game against the Rays. Before the game I shot some player arrivals out back.

Boston Red Sox Photos: World Champions Visit White House And Walter Reed.

My first trip to the White House! What an honor to be able to join members of the Red Sox as they were officially recognized by the White House for their historic 2018 World Series championship season. This was a crazy, nonstop day but one that I won’t forget. Being inside the White House and having access to shoot in such a historic place was true privilege, and it was fun to watch our players, coaches, and staff interact with the spaces around the grounds and with President Donald Trump. I am putting any sort of politics aside for this one, and just tried to make impactful images of the Red Sox on this special day.

Before the White House, players visited patients and staff at Walter Reed National Military Center hospital.

Another tough one last night, as the magic number still remains at 3. More baseball tonight!
