Boston Red Sox Photos: Tuesday, August 30, 2016 vs. Tampa Bay Rays.
Here are some images from last night’s game against Tampa Bay, as well as from the annual WEEI-NESN Jimmy Fund Radio Telethon. This year, that produced some nice candid moments with the team.
Photos: Pedro Martinez Visits Furnace Brook Middle.

I had the opportunity to ride along with three-time Cy Young award winner and Boston Red Sox all-time great, Pedro Martinez, yesterday as he visited Furnace Brook Middle School in Marshfield, Massachusetts.
Unlike last year’s visit to Furnace Brook when we blew a tire on the side of the highway with then Red Sox catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia on board, this year’s ride was smooth. The event itself was just as fun as it was last year.
Pedro is a great subject for photos, but also a very genuine person. He was totally willing with his time and insistent on meeting as many of the students as he possibly could.

There was a lot going on here at Fenway Park last night before the second of a three game series between the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles.
As August nears an end, so does Jimmy Fund month sponsored by the Red Sox. Along with WEEI Radio and the New England Sports Network (NESN), the Red Sox raised over $3 million dollars for cancer research in just two days via the Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon. As is routine, some of the Red Sox player wives got on the phones yesterday to make calls and accept donations.
In addition, the team honored Sean Collier, the MIT Police Officer killed during the attacks of the Boston Marathon, by inviting members of his family to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Collier was a regular donor to the Jimmy Fund.
These are a mix of photos from those two events.

It’s good to be back at Fenway after a few weeks off, particularly during a big series between the Red Sox and the Orioles. I tried to mix it up last night, so I shot from the center field camera well with the 600mm lens that we have here temporarily. I didn’t get much in the way of crazy action, but it’s still refreshing to have a different look.
There are also a few Jimmy Fund photos posted here, as there are lots of ceremonies and recognitions in honor of Jimmy Fund Month at Fenway Park.
