Boston Red Sox Photos: 2018 American League Championship Series Game Two Vs. Houston Astros.

Game two of the ALCS was fun! A great win for the Red Sox to even up the series. We’re in Houston now for games three, four, and five!

We’re back at it at Fenway Park, and into the second half of the 2014 baseball season. The Sox are off to a good start, having won the first two games they’ve played. Here are some grabs from a good one last night. It was slow, but we got some good emotion to shoot toward the end of the game.
Last game of the series is today!

Here’s a quick post from a few of the events happening around the Park this morning. The first photo is from a private pitching lesson with Boston Red Sox manager, John Farrell. The last three are from a sponsorship event with appearances by first baseman Mike Napoli and left fielder Jonny Gomes.

After losing ten straight games, the Red Sox turned things around and got hot just at the right time, rattling off a seven game winning streak which included five wins at Fenway Park.
Here is our “Top Shots” multimedia piece wrapping up our best photos from the homestand, as well as the few selects from the final game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Well, this was a homestand to forget for the Red Sox. A seven game losing streak has not translated well for photos, but it’s a marathon season and there’s still a long way to go.
In the meantime, here are a few from yesterday’s game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Boston Red Sox Photos: Saturday, May 3, 2014 vs. Oakland Athletics.
We had a good game yesterday at Fenway Park, as Jon Lester struck out fifteen batters and Jonny Gomes hit a grand slam to lead the Red Sox to a win over the Oakland Athletics.
A nice day for pictures – good light and good action!
Photos: 2013 World Series – Game 4.
The Red Sox won game four of the World Series last night, tying up the series at two games a piece. This was another dramatic, crazy game with an even crazier ending.
Nobody expected Koji Uehara to end the game by picking off Cardinals pinch runner Kolten Wong at first base (which is the first time in history a World Series game has ended on a pick off), and it happened so fast that I’m surprised I got any pictures out of it.
I’m getting ready to head to the stadium for game five, so there isn’t much time to post, but here are the highlights from the pick off and from Jonny Gomes’ huge three run home run.
Let’s hope for another Boston win tonight!

There’s nothing more exciting than playoff baseball, and I’m really pumped that we have it here in Boston this year.
Yesterday was Game One of the American League Division Series between the Boston Red Sox and the Tampa Bay Rays, and from a Sox photographer’s point of view, things couldn’t have gone better. Although there wasn’t anything to out of the ordinary in the way of pictures, the team came out and dominated with a 10-2 win to begin the series.
I shot the game from one of two temporary, auxiliary photo pits built for the postseason on the inside ends of each dugout. It’s a nice luxury having those extra pits, which give us a different angle than we normally have during the regular season.
This is a selection of photos from both the pre-game Boston Marathon tribute ceremony as well as the game itself.
Game Two is tonight!
Photos: Boston Red Sox Celebrate after Clinching AL East Division.
Two years ago in September, I was in the first base photo bit at Camden Yards in Baltimore, shooting photos as the Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox in dramatic fashion and ultimately eliminating them from the playoffs. Here are those pictures, and what I wrote about that memorable and historic night.
It’s funny how things come full circle. After a last place finish last year in Boston, the Red Sox beat the Toronto Blue Jays last Friday night to clinch a first place finish in an extremely competitive American League East Division, and to secure their spot into the 2013 postseason.
I was incredibly excited to shoot this game, and at the prospect of shooting these celebration photos. This is easily the most memorable experience I’ve had in my four seasons shooting baseball. For me, there’s no bigger an adrenaline rush than being a witness to these moments of peak emotion and jubilation in sports. As a photographer and as a baseball fan, it doesn’t get any better.
These are a selection of photos I shot, both right after the last out of the game was recorded and as the team celebrated on the field after the game. The first one, of pitcher Koji Uehara and catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia celebrating as the team runs out behind them, has quickly become one of the favorite photos I’ve shot.
I can’t wait to be on hand to shoot October playoff baseball in Boston! Here’s hoping for a World Series championship.
Boston Red Sox Photos: Tuesday, September 3, 2013 vs. Detroit Tigers.
Last night was the second of a three game series between two of baseball’s best, the Red Sox and the Tigers. This was slated as a pitcher’s duel between Jon Lester and league leader in wins, Max Scherzer. With that in mind, I wasn’t expecting much action to shoot, and that’s exactly how things went.
Instead, this game’s pictures were more about emotion and reaction than plays on the field, which there was quite a bit of.
Perhaps this is a preview for things to come in the playoffs.
