The Red Sox came from behind last night, putting up seven runs in the seventh inning to give the team the lead. That was all Chris Sale needed to record another win on the season. Infielder Sam Travis shined in his Major League debut, providing timely hits to spark the late inning rally. Here are some photos from the night.
The 2016 Red Sox Hall of Fame inductees – Jason Varitek, Tim Wakefield, the late Ira Flagstead, and Red Sox President/CEO Emeritus Larry Lucchino – were honored during a special pre-game ceremony before last night’s game against the Cleveland Indians.
David Ortiz’s 2013 game-tying grand slam in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers at Fenway Park was also selected as the “Great Red Sox Moment,” a memorable moment in Red Sox history that is regarded for its special significance.
The Sox followed with a close loss to the Cleveland Indians in the first of a three-game series, but there was still much to celebrate at the ball park.
This weekend, singer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, James Taylor, has been at Fenway Park promoting his new song, ‘Angels Of Fenway.’ I was assigned to follow James around yesterday as he addressed the media and threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the game.
Here are a few of my favorites from Taylor’s visit and last night’s game against the Yankees.
Red Sox Hall of Fame day is always a special one around Fenway Park, and this year’s induction was particularly memorable. Yesterday, broadcaster Joe Castiglione, former shortstop Nomar Garciaparra, and former pitchers Roger Clemens and Pedro Martinez were inducted as the newest members of the team’s Hall of Fame.
This was a busy day of shooting, but it was a pleasure to be on hand for this event and hear so many stories from those guys’ careers.
Here are the highlights from the Hall of Fame luncheon, pre-game ceremony, and game. I also threw in some photos of former Boston College baseball player and ALS fundraiser, Pete Frates, accepting the recently trending Ice Bucket Challenge in front of the Green Monster and of the “Rocket” Roger Clemens throwing batting practice to his kids before the game.
After lots of trades around the league, the Red Sox are back in action with a new look and lineup. Here are some images from the second game of a three game series against the New York Yankees, in which left fielder Yoenis Cespedes made his Red Sox debut.
We’re back at it at Fenway Park, and into the second half of the 2014 baseball season. The Sox are off to a good start, having won the first two games they’ve played. Here are some grabs from a good one last night. It was slow, but we got some good emotion to shoot toward the end of the game.
Last game of the series is today!
What a day! On a rare mid-week daytime game, the Boston Red Sox completed a series sweep of the Minnesota Twins, winning a nail biter in vintage walk-off fashion.
After a 0-0 game was broken up by a Minnesota home run in the tenth inning, the Sox responded with back to back home runs by David Ortiz and Mike Napoli to tie and then win the game. It was the first time the Red Sox had won in walk-off fashion on back to back home runs since June 14, 1999.
A great game for photos, and a solid end to a successful homestand overall.
I’m off from baseball for a few weeks, as I’m headed across the pond! More to come soon.
Here’s a quick post from a few of the events happening around the Park this morning. The first photo is from a private pitching lesson with Boston Red Sox manager, John Farrell. The last three are from a sponsorship event with appearances by first baseman Mike Napoli and left fielder Jonny Gomes.
Here are a few images from yesterday’s late afternoon game between the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians. I always love the 4:05 start time for games, especially as we approach the height of summer when the light starts to get really nice.
Despite a Red Sox loss, there were some good moments to shoot throughout the game.
Another day game today!
Last night was a tough one for the Red Sox, as they faced the Detroit Tigers in the first series at Fenway Park since the American League Championship Series last post season.
Here are a few selects from the game. Hopefully a better show tonight!
