Photos: New England Patriots Super Bowl Championship Parade.

Boston is titletown, and with the New England Patriots unforgettable come from behind Super Bowl victory on Sunday, it was time to cue the Duck Boats for the city’s 10th championship parade in the last sixteen years. I was assigned to cover the parade for the team at Getty Images.

This was the third championship parade that I’ve shot in Boston, so for the most part I knew what to expect and how to prepare. The key is getting the right access, which can be difficult sometimes with these large scale events. Luckily, things worked out well and I was able to get some fun images.

Conditions were less than ideal. Cold, grey, and snowing/raining the whole time, and walking the entire parade route in those conditions with three cameras and a backpack over your shoulders was hard work. My whole body is a little sore tonight. But the adrenaline takes over and gets you through it, and I really enjoyed being out there.

Thanks to Getty Images for having me on board!

I was lucky enough to have been asked to work as part of the Getty Images team to cover the New England Patriots Super Bowl Victory Parade today in Boston. It was the team’s fourth Super Bowl in fifteen years, and the fourth of Tom Brady’s career.

Events like this are a true test of your patience as a photographer, and a good exercise in following your instincts. Today, there were so many unknown factors, so I had to force myself to just take a step back and let things progress, slowly but surely.

The corral of photographers was assigned to shoot from two media trucks within the parade caravan, although as the parade got underway, I was able to work my way off the truck and walk the route. The extra mobility was huge, particularly in getting the shots of Brady with the trophy and some celebrations with other players.

Here are some of my favorites from the day. I’m completely exhausted!

I’ve been in Boston for almost four years now, and have had the opportunity to shoot two Championship parades. It’s crazy to think about! Boston is titletown, through and through.
