Here are photos from yesterday at the BNP Paribas Open.

Sunday, March 16, 2014 in Indian Wells, California.”

I’m 30,000 feet above somewhere in the middle of the country, flying back to freezing cold Boston after an unforgettable three weeks working at the 2014 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California.

After a long and crazy tournament, yesterday’s results at the BNP Paribas Open just seem to make everything fall into place. The number one seeded women’s doubles team of Su-Wei Hsieh and Peng Shuai won the doubles championship, the unstoppable duo of Bob and Mike Bryan won their 97th career doubles title, and Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic both advanced to set up a dream final here today.
Can’t wait to shoot these championship photos today!

We’re approaching the end of the BNP Paribas Open, which means matches are getting more tense and emotions running higher. Yesterday was an exciting day of tennis, and today should be even better.
Here are some of the highlights from the men’s quarterfinals and the women’s semifinals.

We had a much needed, smooth day of tennis yesterday. All the matches went relatively quickly, which gave us some time to catch our breath and regroup as we head deeper into this tournament.
I tried to mix things up a bit, and found shooting from up high to be working well yesterday.
Another big day today!

It feels good to be through the middle weekend here at Indian Wells, which was packed with lots of incredible tennis action. I shot a good balance of tennis and fan and around the grounds features yesterday. Here’s a selection.
On to some more good tennis this week!

A long, very busy day filled with activity. I don’t have much time to post, as we have another crazy day today. Here are a few grabs that I liked.

We’ve arrived at the final days of the tournament, so here are the best photos from yesterday’s men’s semifinal matches and men’s and women’s doubles championships.
There was so much drama on court, which made for great emotion and energy. Today, we’ve got the men’s and women’s singles final, so be sure to check back for the winning photos!

Here is a selection of photos from quarterfinal and semifinal action on the men’s and women’s side of the 2013 BNP Paribas Open. We’re deep into the tournament now, so at this point, the photos become more about emotion and reaction rather than straight about straight tennis action.
Additionally, I’ve posted a video from an incredibly unique opportunity I had to follow Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal as they were escorted from the locker room to the court before their quarterfinal match two days ago.
What I love best about the work that I do is the experiences it allows for. These intimate moments before a sporting event of international interest are rarely seen, and it was incredible to witness that first hand. The entire journey took about three minutes, but it seemed to all happen so quickly. A memorable assignment for sure.
This video I shot and edited follows their journey.
More to come from all of today’s action!
