The city of Boston today declared Sept. 5 as Pete Frates Day in honor of Pete Frates, the former Boston College baseball player whose battle with ALS inspired the Ice Bucket Challenge.
In attendance at the proclamation were Boston Red Sox President and CEO Sam Kennedy and Chairman Tom Werner, as well as Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred.
