BOSTON RED SOX PHOTOS: 2017 AMERICAN LEAGUE DIVISION SERIES GAME FOUR VS. HOUSTON ASTROS
The Houston Astros came from behind in game four of the American League Division Series to end the post season run for the Red Sox.
This wasn’t the outcome we hoped for, but it doesn’t take away from the great season we had in 2017. We have a great group of guys to work with, and some amazing moments to shoot this year, both on and off the field. I’m excited for whatever comes next in 2018.
That’s my sixth season here with the Red Sox in the books, and eighth in baseball. I’m not sure how that happened so quickly. For now, it’s a little bit of down time before offseason work picks up again.

The Red Sox returned to Fenway Park down 0–2 in the American League Division Series, but stayed alive with a convincing 10–3 win over the Houston Astros. A go-ahead home run by Rafael Devers, clutch defense in right field by Mookie Betts, and a dominant relief pitching performance by David Price all contributed to the Red Sox the win. Game four is this afternoon!

The Houston Astros took game one of the 2017 American League Division Series here at Minute Maid Park, powered by an epic three home run performance by MVP front runner, Jose Altuve. There’s not much you can do about a game like that!
The Red Sox look to even out the series in game two today as Drew Pomeranz takes the hill. I’ll be shooting the game, then flying back with the team tonight.

The Cleveland Indians took a close one last night, in game one of the ALDS at Progressive Field. This game could have gone either way, so the Sox look to rebound tonight in game two.
For whatever reason, I felt a little out of sorts or out of rhythm going into last night’s game. I think it was being at a new stadium for the first time and figuring out positioning and logistics. I’m looking forward to this afternoon’s game. I’ve got a better feeling about it!
Dino.

In 2009, on my last day as an intern with the Baltimore Orioles, Nolan Reimold hit an eleventh inning walk-off home run to give the Orioles a 5-4 win on the final game of the season. I remember that day perfectly. What better way to end a fantastic internship than a feel-good win to send me off?
Last Wednesday, nearly two years to the date of that last game in 2009, the Orioles again ended their season in dramatic, walk-off fashion, as Robert Andino hit a ninth inning walk-off RBI single to knock the Boston Red Sox out of the playoffs.
I don’t want to sound old, but in all my years of playing, watching, and shooting baseball games, this is among the most memorable. The circumstances couldn’t have been scripted any better. The first shot here is Andino’s winning hit. The second is of him alone in the dugout after all the other players had cleared into the locker room. But for how much I’ll always remember that night as a whole, what happened in between these two moments is a complete blur to me. I always try to shoot without emotion, but in this case, that was just impossible.
My celebration shots are garbage, to put it bluntly, but I was happy to capture this quieter moment in the midst of chaos. Dino has always been one of my favorites since I’ve been here. He’s not the biggest guy out there, but I’ve always loved his hustle.
This last game’s “Thing I Learned:” It’s nights like this that make taking photos so enjoyable.
