You never know where your shooting will take you. This was a different kind of assignment from the majority of ones I do, but I really enjoyed shooting for Temple Israel in Boston at their Shabbat services last week.
The Temple’s public relations team asked me to shoot some staged portraits of one of the Rabbis, Rabbi Elaine Zecher, and to provide some general coverage of their Qabbalat Shabbat services. This was a delicate act, as technically one isn’t allowed to shoot photos during services. They made an exception this one time, so I tiptoed around and made use of my camera’s quiet shutter mode.
Here are a few portraits and candids from the evening. A big thanks to fellow Boston photographer Elan Kawesch for referring me for this job!
