Here are some photos from the last game of a long, busy home stand. David Ortiz continued his hot streak, hitting career home run #498.
I tried to separate myself from the pack of photographers and move around to shoot from different angles last night. It felt good to be mobile, and it worked out well for the Ortiz home run.
We’ll see if I’m chasing him around for #500 on the road!
I’m just returning from jetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Florida, where I was shooting and editing for several days at Boston Red Sox Spring Training camp. It’s hard to believe it’s already time for baseball. Where did the offseason go?
This year, we’re aiming to continue last year’s efforts to produce lots of multimedia work within the Red Sox photo department, so we hit the ground running in Spring Training. This is one of a series of quick, fifteen second multimedia videos that are being posted to the Red Sox Instagram account. Each one is unique and highlights a different newly added player to the roster. We aimed to individualize each piece by playing to the personalities of each guy.
Here are pieces for pitchers Joe Kelly and Robbie Ross Jr., outfielder Rusney Castillo, and third baseman Pablo Sandoval. I’ve also included a gallery of some of my favorite photos and portraits I shot from team workouts and photo day.
This is going to be a great season, and I’m excited that things are underway! I hope you are too!
These are a few images from a tough loss last night for the Red Sox against Tampa. It’s hard to believe we’re already into our final homestand of the season.
