The Championships Wimbledon 2019: Day 8 – July 8, 2019.
Here’s my final piece from the 2019 Championships Wimbledon! Traditionally, there is no play during the middle Sunday of the tournament each year, but this year the courts at Wimbledon Park were still buzzing with action. This is a video highlighting “Middle Sunday Opened Up,” a free tennis clinic hosted by the All England Lawn Tennis Club and the Lawn Tennis Association.
Just like that, the first week of the Championships is finished, and so am I. I had a blast returning to work for this tournament for the first time since 2014. A lot has changed in those five years, but also much has stayed the same at this fantastic tournament. Personally, it was a thrill to come back and work, with five more years of experience under me. i felt more prepared and composed in all type of situations, both on the photography and video side. A huge thank you to the Championships and the fantastic content team for having me on board!
Now, off to Cleveland for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game. It never ends.
The Championships Wimbledon 2019: Day 6 & 7 – July 6 & 7, 2019.
Combining days here since they all blur together anyway! A busy day on the show courts led to this video above which bounces between matches throughout the day. There’s also some random stills from the two days here, including a stylized “Afternoon Tea” shoot at Wimbledon.
The Championships Wimbledon 2019: Day 5 – July 5, 2019.
A lighter day of match play on Day 5. Here’s a quick video cut I shot and edited from the ladies’ match between grand slam champions Simona Halep and Victoria Azarenka.
The Championships Wimbledon 2019: Day 4- July 4, 2019.
Here is my stuff from Day 4, which featured the biggest match of the tournament so far – a show down between Rafael Nadal of Spain and Nick Kyrgios of Australia. Drew Carlisle of Tried & True and I decided to tag team an epic video to tell the story of the match. Both of us shot high definition footage, and Drew edited the pice above.
The Championships Wimbledon 2019: Day 3 – July 3, 2019.
The tennis rolls on! Yesterday, I followed Rafael Nadal and Nick Kyrgios around during their practice sessions to crate a minute long sizzle reel ahead of their much anticipated match today on Centre Court.
The Championships Wimbledon 2019: Day 2 – July 2, 2019.
Here is some visual work from Day 2 at Wimbledon! The first piece is a quick 60 second video hit on the return of Wimbledon defending Champion, Angelique Kerber. I also shot a few photos of some famous people.
The Championships Wimbledon 2019: Day 1 – July 1, 2019.
I’m back in SW19 for the first time since 2014 to shoot the Championships Wimbledon for the Wimbledon content team. This year, the timing couldn’t have worked out better, as I was already here for the London Series the weekend before the tennis tournament began. This year, I am shooting primarily video, which is a change for me and a welcome challenge. I am still mixing in some photos here and there.
Here’s a piece I shot and edited from the first day. The video details the new and improved No. 1 Court and all the action there on the opening day of the tournament.

It’s past midnight here, and I’m just finishing my edits before I fly back home just a few hours from now. I’m absolutely wiped, but I was lucky enough to be in the photo pits on Centre Court to shoot today’s epic five set men’s final between Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. Here are some of the highlights from the match. Here is a gallery with several others.
I’m too tired to post a longer reflection on the tournament overall as I usually do, but simply put, it was one big incredible, valuable, educational, stressful at times, rewarding experience that I’m very grateful to have had.
Goodbye and thank you Wimbledon 2014!
Back to Boston!

Things are getting exciting around here at the grounds of the All England Club, as we’ve reached finals weekend. Today, I was tasked with shooting practice sessions for all four singles finalists in the morning. Above are a few scenes from those practices.
I was also assigned to get down to Centre Court for the trophy presentations following the championship match between Eugenie Bouchard and Petra Kvitova. With a bit of luck, I was able to get on court for match point, and happened to be positioned with a clean view of Kvitova’s reaction. These are my favorites from the end of the match. It’s always a thrill to witness special moments like these.
Here and here are two galleries with some more scenes from the day.
