Photos: Boston Bruins Make-A-Wish.

Last night, I had the opportunity to shoot for the Make-A-Wish Foundation during a hockey game between the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens at TD Garden in Boston.

I’ve been lucky to shoot lots of Make-A-Wish events through my work at the Red Sox, but was told this one was going to be pretty special. Indeed, it was.

Thirteen year old Jimmy Bjorkman of West Salem, Wisconsin, is a huge hockey fan, and took an immediate liking to the Bruins when he first started watching games several years ago. He was also born with hypo-plastic left heart syndrome. Essentially, he was born with only half a heart. Here is a story about him.

But it’s never stopped him from playing and watching sports, so when he learned that Make-A-Wish was flying him and his family to Boston to be a member of the Bruins team for a day, he was thrilled.

Here are a few photos from the night. He got the royal VIP treatment, and met the players, rode the zamboni during intermission, got a tour of the locker room, and even skated out on the ice with the team during the National Anthem.

Great to meet you, Jimmy and family!
