Sometimes, my job takes me to some pretty cool places.
We received word that rising American tennis star and California native, CoCo Vandeweghe, goes 4 wheeling in the desert every year that she plays in this tournament, so this year, we decided to tag along.
I had a great time, despite hanging off the side of a cramped, rusty back trailer that I’m told was made for a six year-old. Probably not one of the wisest decisions I’ve made, but I lived to tell the tale. I had to jump off after awhile and film while standing on the course. It was just too bumpy.
On the tennis front, I’ve included some photos from preliminary tournament action around the grounds. The light was particularly nice for Rafael Nadal’s arrival to the tournament, so I posted some of those in the gallery below.
