Boston Red Sox Photos: Ron Roenicke Named As Interim Manager.

The Boston Red Sox today announced that Ron Roenicke has been named Interim Manager.

Roenicke, 63, spent the last two seasons (2018–19) as the Red Sox’ bench coach, helping guide the club to a franchise-record 108 regular-season wins and a World Series championship in 2018, followed by another winning season in 2019 (84–78). The 2020 season will be his 30th as a coach or manager, including his 23rd in the major leagues.

Red Sox Chief Baseball Officer Chaim Bloom, General Manager Brian O’Halloran, and Roenicke were available for a press conference at jetBlue Park this afternoon. Following the press conference, Roenicke posed for his first portrait as Manager.
